Do you live in Milwaukee, Madison, or Green Bay? Are you searching for a job in the truck driving industry? Wisconsin truck driving jobs are available throughout the entire state. Whether you are inexperienced or have years of experience driving a commercial vehicle, you will need to follow the same route to find a Wisconsin truck driving job.

First, do you have a current Wisconsin CDL?

If you don't have experience driving a tractor trailer, you may not know that you need a special license (a commercial driver's license) before you are able to drive most commercial vehicles. So, what do you have to do to obtain a CDL? You must take and pass a written exam. You must also pass a road test. You can prepare for both the exam and the road test by attending a Wisconsin truck driving school.

If you already have a CDL, you need to make sure that it is issued by the state of Wisconsin. To find a Wisconsin truck driving job, you need a Wisconsin CDL. If you have a CDL from another state, you will want to visit a Wisconsin DMV to see what you are required to do before you can obtain a Wisconsin CDL. You may have to take the Wisconsin CDL written exam, pay a small fee, or both.

If you have a commercial driver's license, make sure that your license is current. If your license is close to expiring, you must go to the DMV to renew it. You will want to bring photo identification, your expiring CDL, your social security card, and money for your renewal fee. You will be asked to have your picture taken at the DMV when renewing your CDL. If your license has expired, you must retake all required exams.

Second, do you have any endorsements? Finding a truck driving job can be competitive. You can give yourself an advantage over the competition by obtaining as many endorsements as you can. After you have a CDL you can obtain endorsements. To obtain an endorsement, you must pass endorsement-specific written exams.

Once you have your CDL and endorsements, let the job hunting begin. Wisconsin truck driving jobs are available in the state's large cities as well as the rural parts of the state. If you have attended a truck driving school, you may want to begin your job search there. Truck driving schools are an excellent resource when it is time to look for a job.
