No matter what city you work out of, there are qualifications that you must meet before you can obtain a commercial truck driving job. Whether you are operating out of Memphis or Milledgeville, you need a commercial driver's license. If you haven't renewed your license within the past five years, you will want to make sure that it has not expired.

Depending on what you are hauling, you may need a specific license, other than your CDL. If you are pulling a tank or driving a tanker truck, you are required to have what is called a tank endorsement. Obtaining a tank endorsement, or any other endorsement, requires that you take and pass a specific exam.
