Oklahoma is a state with a very diverse and thriving economy, one that is comprised of agriculture, aviation, and energy. Along with the growing economy comes an increased demand for truck drivers, who are desperately to ensure Oklahoma's industries keep progressing. Truck driving itself has progressed into a full-fledged industry that has evolved into an industry that does a lot more than transport products to your local supermarket.

Energy remains one of the state's biggest and most profitable industries. In fact, Oklahoma is the second largest producer of natural gas in the United States and fifth-largest producer of crude oil. The oil energy industry contributes nearly $23 billion to Oklahoma's industry and workers within the industry make nearly twice the state's average salary. All of the Fortune 500 companies located in Oklahoma are oil-related and three of the largest oil companies in the nation are located in the state. Truck drivers are needed not only to transport oil throughout the state and the rest of the region, but to haul equipment and supplies needed to keep operations running.

Aviation is another top industry in Oklahoma, which contributes more than $11 billion to the state economy each year. The city of Tulsa is home to the largest airline maintenance base in the world and the engineering headquarters for American Airlines, one of the United State's largest airline carriers.

Last but certainly not least is agriculture, rounding out Oklahoma's top industries. The state is a major exporter of beef and has cattle ranches located throughout the entire state. Other major products include pig products (pork, ham), wheat, and dairy products (milk, cheese, etc.). Truck drivers are hired by both agricultural companies and truck driving companies to deliver these products throughout the state. If you are interested in an over-the-road Oklahoma truck driving job, companies are hiring drivers to transport Oklahoma's agricultural products all over the country, from coast to coast.
