No matter what size of office your firm has, it has to bear in mind many factors in order to work as efficiently as possible. These fundamental necessities should never be overlooked. It has to adhere to the law and make sure that the employees can work to their optimum level at all times. The lighting in an office should be used to create a bright, positive atmosphere. Natural light is often used to maintain a positive moral amongst employees. The employers also have to try and avoid the creation of shadows which can prove to be difficult. This can be done though with careful planning of where windows, desks and employees will be to keep shadowing to a minimum. Heating is a basic need for those working in an office all day. The heating should adapt every day to the needs of the employees and employers. Windows can be opened to let heat out in the summer if it's too hot and the heating can be put on the winter when the weather is at its most fierce. Making the most of the office space is a must. Where you place desks within a small working environment can dictate the amount of space you will allow yourself to have. It is best to know the size of space you have, the size of desks you have and how many you wish to place within the space. With this, you take note of the size of computers you wish to use as well as telephones and storage. This should adhere to common health and safety regulations to ensure that everything within your office is parallel with the law. This can depend on if your office is an open plan office or if you wish to have cubicles for each employee. Storage within an office has to be kept tidy and organised. This can be done is a variety of ways including paper files, on the computer using back up and off-site storage. Some companies like to use CD storage and keep all the information of an individual client on a CD and back up CD. It's also a great idea to include some luxurious items for the employees like a water machine. This is perfect for those hot summer months and also offers the opportunity for a quick water break before getting back to work refreshed. These ideas could be put into practice at an office space at any time of the year without much disturbance, if any, to the workers before they get to enjoy the new layout.
