The management magazine, Management Today, picked a list of the top 35 women in business, under the age of 35. The business women came from a variety of different sectors, and all were hugely successful in their line of work. The sectors ranged from cosmetics to property, and the average age of the 35 women was just 31, with the youngest woman being only 19.

This list shows the different types of jobs in management that women are doing throughout the UK, and are excelling in. The management jobs that women are doing also highlight their success in light of the current recession.

The youngest woman on the list is 19 year old Ruth Amos whose business is based on her GCSE course work. Ruth has only just completed her A-Levels, but is putting off going to University in order to build her successful business. Ruth states:

My age is not only my biggest help but my biggest hindrance. When I started, every major bank refused me business banking and that hit me really hard

From this list of women doing the best management jobs in the UK, over half of them work in predominantly male sectors. Katy Taylor, 28, is one such woman who has earned a Masters in engineering and works for the Metropolitan Police.

Almost two thirds of the women on the list took male orientated subjects while at university; subjects such as law, economics, business and science.
