VW goes light commercially |

The luxury in any form is a boon and in India the luxury car is the greatest trend and the demand is increasing and so is the entry of the foreign car makers. Volkswagen AG is expected to roll out its light commercial vehicles to India for the growing public transport. Volkswagen's minivans and minibuses will be imported as completely built units. At present the company is on the verge of studying the domestic commercial vehicle market and decision will be the result of that study in the near future. They are also setting up manufacturing plant for the passenger cars in Chakan, near Pune. And if VW decides to foray the Indian auto market in the commercial vehicles segment, it will be a separate entity Volkswagen Commercial India. Volkswagen also builds a range of commercial vehicles from light passenger vehicles to heavy trucks, through its subsidiaries MAN AG and Scania. Volkswagen is going to build a strong position in Indian auto industry. It has couple of new launches like VW Polo- the hot hatchback. Currently VW Passat and Touareg shine on the Indian roads.
