The auto industry has cars that are both widely common or so unusual that many of us do not acknowledge them if we saw it driving by us. Out of all of the many types and brands my preferred has and always will be the Lamborghini. This supercar auto manufacturer understands what goes into designing something that is jam pakced with luxury and power. The Murcielago and the Gallardo are two of their most standard models. One that is reasonably new is the Superleggera. This car was shown off in the 2007 Geneva Auto Show to contend against the new Ferrari 430 Scuderia. This incredibly lightweight model was developed as a tribute to the very first Lamborghini model - the 350GT. This unique model is built with a reinforced intake, exhaust, and ECU that is able to push it to 520 HP. All of this is affiliated to the six speed e-gear transmission that is standard with it. This is good for most consumers who do not have to spend $10,000 to add it to the model. What separates this from other models is how light it is. It is lighter then many models by nearly 220 pounds. In order to make sure this is possible they used carbon fiber panels for the rear diffuser, inside door panels, central tunnel, sport seats, engine cover, and the undertray. The Lamborghini Superleggera costs more then $200,000 and was released in June of 2007. During which time 172 units were made and bought. However, since then Lamborghini has chosen to discontinue it.
