GPS or the global positioning system works on several satellites revolving around the earth that supply detailed time and position information. GPS fleet is a type of system, which makes use of a small antenna and a GPS receiver installed on the vehicle. These antennas link themselves to GPS network that helps monitor the activity of the vehicle round the clock. The locating device or a black box fixed inside the vehicle constantly receives signals from GPS satellites and determines its correct location. The software map installed on the computer displays the vehicle location. GPS fleet tracker can be accessed via Internet, mobile phones and land phones. Rise in productivity: As the vehicles are being closely monitored, drivers cannot make wrong use of vehicles or make unnecessary stops during the journey. This will in turn help to increase the trips made by each fleet for official purpose. Safe driving: This device also notes the speed of a running vehicle. With this facility, drivers can be warned of unsafe and over speeding thus reaching the destination safely.
