GM Dealer of the Year Awards at New York City

General Motors' executives will be in New York City this week to honor this year's "GM Dealer of the Year" winners with the 2006 Jack Smith Leadership Award. The winners were chosen out from more than 7,000 GM dealers across the country which is considered to be the largest dealer network in the nation. Only 115 dealers nationwide will earn this prestigious award in recognition for their continued dedication to sales excellence, customer satisfaction and community involvement.

According to Rick Wagoner, GM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, "The Leadership Award received by our very best dealer partners today recognizes their superior performance and innovative leadership. We thank them for their extraordinary contributions to our business, and their dedication to our customers and communities."

The chosen dealers will receive the 2006 Jack Smith Leadership Award which is named after Jack Smith, the retired GM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and founder of the honorary program.

The award to be given is a Steuben crystal obelisk which embodies the ultimate dealer achievement at General Motors. GM CEO Rick Wagoner along with other senior company officers will be presenting the awards at the ceremony that will be held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
