As all us women know, the fairer sex are also the safest drivers. We feel that at the wheel, we are calmer, slower and generally more poised, but new research has proved that our assumptions were indeed correct. The AA have conducted a survey to embellish on the already accepted fact, that women are safer drivers than men. They have gone further, and new research has found that women are also far less (150% less) likely to have driving convictions. Women can generally expect to get cheap car insurance, certainly in comparison to our male counterparts! Most convictions are for speeding, followed by jumping a red light, and drink driving coming third. Young drivers are in the majority when it comes to convictions, and young male drivers rank highest for this crime. Simon Douglas, director of AA insurance, commented: "Whatever your age or sex, insurers take notice of driving offences, especially multiple offenders and this is reflected in premiums. That's because regular offenders are much more likely to make an insurance claim than those who have a clean license. Keeping the right side of the law is one of the best ways to keep your insurance premiums in check." So when looking for a car insurance quote, us females can sleep easy knowing that we will not be hit by a massive bill to ensure we stay safe on the roads.
