Knowing where to get college textbooks is a great idea since college students do need to be resourceful in finding out where all the materials they need are available from. If you are looking for where to buy college textbooks, it is a good idea to find out from your local college itself. Many times students do advertise that they are selling their books on bulletin boards around the school and in the dormitory. • You might also check what is available online and in your local directories and classified ads. • The school newspaper will most likely have college textbooks you can buy listed in the section. These are great resources to know about because with the endless supply of books you are most likely going to need, it is a good idea to do a little bit of research on where you may be able to cut corners. • Another good resource is the class just after you, since they may not be needing certain books any longer for classes they've already taken. • There are instances where college textbooks are out of stock and very difficult to purchase whether new or used. For this reason, it is important to find out as many different resources as you can on where you can get it. The last thing you want to happen is that classes start and you still do not have the required list of books. Not only will you most likely fall behind everyone in class, you will also have to work double time trying to catch up with everyone. No matter how much you want to save money due to the fluctuating economy, the necessity of having to buy college textbooks is unavoidable. There are certain books that you do not want to purchase second hand. These books are the ones where you need to fill up the blanks and write essays in. Also, you do not want to purchase second hand math books. This is because these categories of books will most likely be fully written on and will not really help you learn in any way. When the tables are turned and you have an excess of buy textbooks, you can sell them either formally or informally. However, there are certain books you do not want to sell including reference material and the like. These include English manuals, medical terms, generic listings of medicine and other types of reference material, which you will most likely need in the course of your career.
