It's usually not enough to simply play good music to achieve world's success. To rule the music scene one should introduce a unique image to be so radical and vivid to attract attention of every music lover, including most active music critics. It's the Slipknot that managed to succeed in doing this. The band‘s formation took place alongside rise of the Nu Metal trend, and the band has even contributed into it's development. Due to myriad ways of self-expression, the Slipknot posses as the most odious alternative modern band. The Slipknot comprises nine members. They are easy to remember. They will strike your mind forever the very moment you see them performing. All the members wear matching uniform jumpsuits and custom-made masks, inspired by some facet of their own respective personalities. The members' masks are typically altered or presented in a new form with the advent of each new album. They are labelled singing monsters in view of their harrowing appearances, which they themselves perceive quite humorously. In 1996 the band happened to be managed by Ross Robinson, who has significantly contributed into promoting such megastars as the Korn and the Sepultura. The group is reputedly founded by Shawn Crahan, who performs drums in the band and is considered the most insane member. His mask reminds the one of the clown. It's Shawn that conceives and generates all the bizarre ideas, practices by the band. He also poses as the author of decorations in all the Slipknot's videos. He claims to express himself utterly through releasing CD albums, including the Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat, the Lowa and the Vol3: The Subliminal Verses. All the masks of the Slipknot are peculiar of their original characters. The comprehensive collection includes the masks of pig, skeleton, demon, hockey, masochist and the one from the Japanese theatre. The most successful attempt to mimick the Spilknot was fulfilled by the Mushroomhead, playing gigs in gas-masks and orange outfits. However, only the Slipknot, who organized themselves into a band 10 years ago, still remain the most unpredictable and popular music band. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
