Cards games are known to be easy to learn, but hard to play. The ‘easy to learn' part is because the rules of cards games are normally short and simple, allowing players to be more creative with their strategies and moves. Ramino is one such game, which can be said to be a perfect example of a simple card game which is fun to play.
Initially introduced by only a few websites, the charm of Ramino has made it popular among online card game lovers from all over the world. The main reason for the exploding popularity has been the simplicity of the game. The game can be played just with a pack of cards and a few interested online players. The game can be played for money and for free. But the wise thing to do, at the start is to play for free and get your basics right. No matter how simple a game is, there are a few rules, moves and strategies which have to be understood before you can risk your money in it.
In a game of Ramino, players have to make up melds by using the cards available to them. These cards are offered to players in two ways, the first being from a stack of cards which is laid face down in the centre of the table and the second being from a pile of cards which is known as the discard pile. Players pick their cards one by one from the stack. The cards which they find useful are kept and the ones which do not suit their requirements are thrown in the discard pile. The first player who manages to make his meld wins the game. This game may be an individual game or a part of a tournament. In the latter case, the winner of the game goes on to play more games leading to the jackpot. Every Ramino game in a tournament is played for points. The player procuring the highest points, wins. An interesting point about the game is the discard pile. I mentioned before that if the card picked by a player from the stack does not suit his requirement, then it is thrown in the discard pile. This discarded card, can be picked by the next player and used to make up his meld. Thus a keen eye must be kept on the cards being discarded. Also, keeping a watch on the discard pile is important to know the location of the card that you are looking for.
As the discard pile is laid ‘face up' a card that you are looking for, is thrown, will be visible for you. If you are not in a position to pick it up, you should quickly change your strategy to keep up with the game. As Ramino is an exciting and fast game, you should only carry budgeted money in your pocket. If you are playing online then you should deposit enough money which you are prepared to loose. Fast card games are addictive and can be the fastest way of loosing money online if you over spend in the flow of the game.
