There is more to playing online poker than just playing the right cards or winning the pot. Proper bankroll management - keeping your funds separate is key to making sure you don't lose everything when the competition gets tough. Before
you can execute savvy bankroll management you must
first have a full understanding of what it means. Bankroll management is where you remain at
certain limits to avoid losing all of your bankroll. These guidelines are meant to protect you
against losing your entire savings. Knowing When to Move Back If you like sticking to the cash games you should have a minimum of 20 buy-ins in your bankroll depending on the level you are playing. Anything less than that and you might want to go back to the previous level. If you deposit $50, good bankroll management strategy would be moving up and
down as needed until you can get up to $100.
You should move up and down according to how the game is being played
out. It is important that you not be
too proud to move back down if things are not going as planned. This is part of exercising good bankroll
management. Bankroll management is simply a matter of self-discipline; keeping your playing money and your other funds separate. Your bankroll is the amount of money you have set aside from other expenses. You should not cash out, withdraw or use this money for anything other than poker. In order to execute proper bankroll management, you should not risk any large portions of it in any one tournament or cash game. For example, if your total bankroll is $400, buying into a tournament for $100 is not correct bankroll management, it is too much risk. You should instead play lower, like the $10 level, until you are able to build your bankroll up. Once your bankroll starts to grow, you can then move up in limits. Failure to practice sensible bankroll management could easily result in going broke. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
