When you're feeling the pinch you'll be looking for ways to cut back, but that doesn't mean that you can't have any fun. There are plenty of things you can do to minimise your costs without downsizing your leisure time and most of them involve spending more time with your friends and family, so you're looking at a win-win situation. One way to save money, and even possibly make some for yourself, is by hosting parties for companies that sell their goods through people's homes. From Tupperware to bathroom goodies and jewellery, there are plenty of different types of these parties and the host typically either earns a cut of the goods sold or is able to choose some of the products for themselves. Your hosting duties are usually minimal and a representative from the company will normally come and give you a demonstration and take the orders, so all the hard work will be done for you. If that doesn't sound like a good option for you maybe you'd like to think of ways to get the family together. A night baking cakes and treats or mixing cocktails can be a great way to get conversation flowing and will cost a lot less than a trip to a coffee shop or a bar. One the other hand, if you've computer game fans in your family, a night playing some games can be great fun for everyone - especially is you choose family-friendly ones that are suitable for people of many different levels of ability. Of course, an ideal way to get everyone together is in front of a good film. Rustle up some popcorn and pick up a few sweets and you can enjoy a film at home together and chat about it afterwards at little cost to yourselves. This is a great way to cut expenses as visiting the cinema can be a costly experience, from the price of the tickets and snacks to the cost of parking, a cinema visit can leave you feeling a lot lighter in the pocket. What's more, technology has advanced so much that the quality of picture you can get at home is really quite spectacular, meaning with something like Sky+HD you'll be able to enjoy watching films that look cinema-quality. Saving money by enjoying some leisure time at home doesn't have to be dull, spend a little time thinking about ways you can entertain your friends and family for less and it's sure to pay off.
