Download Full Movie The Slammin' Salmon The
Slammin' Salmon, written by Broken Lizard and directed by Kevin
Heffernan, follows the employees of a celebrity-owned restaurant
bearing the same name. Owned by former heavyweight boxing champion,
Cleon "Slammin" Salmon (Michael Clarke Duncan), The Slammin' Salmon is
not all about the food or the guests. Rather, its main focus is on the
eccentric Champ himself, as demonstrated by his nightly appearances in
the restaurant, always in a grandiose fashion. One evening he gallups
in on a horse, wearing a gaudy royal outfit.
Employed at The Slammin' Salmon is the usual cast of characters found
at any restaurant. The guy constantly threatening to quit, who ends up
becoming manager; the guy who moves on to bigger and better things,
only having to come crawling back to his old restaurant job; the girl
putting herself through grad school; the guy who is completely
self-involved and cares only about how much money he makes and who will
sleep with him; the girl who sweet-talks herself through any situation;
the chef whose cuisine is the best in the world and takes issue with
anyone who thinks differently; the unstable guy who is just plain wacky
and clearly suffers from mental illness; the clumsy guy who can't hold
three plates to save his life. Meet Rich (Heffernan), Connor (Steve
Lemme), Tara (Cobie Smulders), Guy (Erik Stolhanske), Mia (April
Bowlby), Angry Chef (Paul Soter), Nuts (Jay Chandrasekhar), and Donnie
(Soter).
When the Champ owes $20,000 to a Japanese businessman, it's up to
manager Rick to generate that amount of sales in a single night, or
else The Slammin' Salmon will be taken from the Champ. Rich motivates
the waitstaff by holding a sales contest. Winner gets tickets to the
Norah Jones concert. The stakes are raised several times as the night
progresses and sales of $20,000 seem a far-off reach. Not only is
Champ's restaurant on the line; Rich will be beaten to a pulp by Champ
if the necessary cash is not garnered.
While Champ and Rich feel the pressure of the task at hand, the
servers' eagerness fluctuates alongside their sales. They don't know
the reason behind the contest. They just enjoy the opportunity to earn
a great prize and sabotage their competitive co-workers when possible.
While The Slammin' Salmon exemplifies the basic atmosphere of a
restaurant, it does so on steroids. Personalities are emphasized to the
max, guest interactions are exaggerated, and situations are flat out
ridiculous. While the film maintains an interesting plot throughout,
the humor often falls flat with an over-abundance of ass-jokes, when
presumably more witty banter could have been implemented.
Restaurant movies will always be compared to Waiting. Broken Lizard
films will always be compared to Super Troopers. Despite the best
efforts of The Slammin' Salmon, the aforementioned films remain the
gold standards in their respective categories. Do go out and see The
Slammin' Salmon though, because as with food, everybody's taste is
different. Download The Slammin' Salmon Divx Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
