Many of us search for low cost or cheap frontline for Dogs and Cats. Once we find it there are a few ways we can make it work for as long as possible and to be as effective as possible.
Firstly you may like to see how effective it is if you only apply it on a six weekly basis rather than every month. I have found that in all but the worst part of the flea season this is entirely effective and it works extremely well. The medication seems to stay working just as well as if I apply it every four weeks. What is very important is to ensure that it is applied correctly. It simply will not work very well if it is applied on to the fur. It must come in to direct contact with the skin. part the hair well and apply directly to the skin. Now, many people find that it begins to soak in to the fur about half way through the application. If this does happen then it is best to stop applying it in that location and move to another. I find that it works much more effectively if it is applied in two places rather than just one. Apply half behind the collar and the other half above the hind legs. Ensure it is high enough up the back so that it cannot be licked. This allows it to spread around the body much quicker and means that much more of the cheap frontline plus is absorbed directly by the skin. If you follow these few tips you will find that the frontline both last longer and is much more effective at treating fleas and ticks.
