Both K9 Advantix and Frontline Plus offer great flea control but which is better? Here we shall compare K9 Advantix with Frontline Plus.

Firstly, let us confirm, K9 Advantix is a Dog's Flea Treatment, hence the name. This is not a product which can be used on cats. So if you are a cat owner, stick with Frontline as that is definitely the best product to control fleas and ticks for our feline pets.

Dog owners though, do have a choice. K9 Advantix for Dogs does some of what Frontline Plus does, and a little more, and it is even sold at a lower price. But, do you need Dog Advantix flea drops?

Okay, let's compare these topical flea treatments.

Fleas

Both K9 Advantix and Frontline Plus for Dogs kill fleas, and keep on killing them for at least a month. But, Frontline Plus usually carries on killing new fleas which meet your dog for much longer, anything up to two months. This period of flea control varies depending on the number and activity levels of the fleas in your locality, so expect the longest time-span during the winter months.

Ticks

Both products destroy ticks. But only Dog Advantix repels them too.

Biting Lice

Both products destroy chewing lice.

Mosquitoes

Only K9 Advantix for Dogs kills and repels mosquitoes.

Biting Flies

Only Dog Advantix repels biting flies.

So both products deal with the key problem of fleas and ticks, but K9 Advantix also repels biting flies and mosquitoes. Whilst many pets simply do not need these insects dealt with, many more do.

So when we Compare K9 Advantix with Frontline Plus it really depends on what pests you need to deal with. If your dog is distressed and irritated by biting flies and mosquitoes it makes sense to try Dog Advantix. But if these insects are not problematic Frontline offers savings overall as you often do not need to use it so regularly. Plus, though both products must meet stringent safety rules, Frontline wins as it has only one active ingredient compared to two for Advantix. The fewer active ingredients, the less chance of any allergic reaction.
