Yorkies make great pet dogs. They are loving, loyal, energetic, and very smart. In fact, Yorkies generally learn quicker than many other dog breeds. But you need to know how to train a Yorkie the right way. This article will give you some light on training Yorkies. Housebreaking - Oftentimes Yorkies can be somewhat stubborn when you are trying to housebreak them. The best time to start housebreaking your Yorkie is when they are a puppy. When you see your Yorkie puppy peeing on the floor, simply speak loudly "NO!", and take your Yorkie outside (always take your Yorkie to the same area outside so they will associate that smell). Never physically hit your Yorkie, yelling at them is enough, and remember that Yorkie puppies bladders aren't fully developed until later. Training Commands - The Yorkie dog breed is know for beeing very intelligent. They can learn commands such as sit, stay, fetch, rollover very quickly. If you want to teach your Yorkie commands you should start by getting some treats and letting your Yorkie smell them in your hand while you speak the command. When your Yorkie does the command, give them a treat and say "Good boy, or girl". Here are some tips on training commands to your Yorkie:
