A well-trained dog is a pleasure to be around and a joy to own. If you care about your dog and you enjoy being a dog owner you owe it to yourself and to your dog to make sure that you follow through with all of the dog obedience training that you can. Your dog will be easier to live with, get along with and much safer than if you neglect to train your dog.

Well-trained dogs will never cause their owners to feel awkward. They require less restrictions and can be relied upon in all circumstances. In this way a well-trained dog is a pleasure to own. A well-trained dog will never cause unnecessary problems for his owner.

We have all met dogs that were rowdy, barked too much and jumped at the wrong times or on the wrong places or people. Visitors often fear the untrained dog because they don't know how to handle the dog's poor behavior. Poorly behaved dogs make everyone uneasy.

If you walk your dog in a public place you are much more likely to be accepted if your dog is well-behaved. Strangers, friends and family all receive you in a more welcoming manner with a well-behaved and properly trained dog. It is much easier for everyone if your dog has good manners and is well-behaved.

As a conscientious dog owner you need to take care of your dog obedience training. Training a dog can strengthen the bond between the dog and his owner. Training a dog reinforces mutual respect, communication, and understanding and makes it clear to your dog that as his master and owner you are the "alpha dog". If your dog considers you to be the leader you will dodge many difficulties especially if your dog is a high strung and rowdy by nature.

Keeping your dog safe is easier when he is properly trained in obedience. If your dog responds instantly to your commands you can keep him safe in crowds, heavy traffic areas and more. Your dog will return to you when you call if he happens to leave the yard also. This can save you much time and irritation.

A well-behaved and appropriately trained dog is a joy to own. You will be able to take your dog anywhere and not risk awkwardness or fear for the safety of your dog or of other people. With proper dog obedience training your dog will exhibit appropriate behavior in a crowd, good manners around guests and he will be non-threatening to other pets and people and dependable around children.

Dog obedience training really pays off for you as an owner and for your dog. Training your dog is one of the most important things you should do as a dog owner.
