Find out about their eating habits, their lifestyles and even the quality traits... what makes them so desirable? There a few things to consider while you decide.

First, find out about boxer puppies character traits and their manners. You should know that if they are active, they won't want to sit in the corner all day, chained. Boxer puppies are like human babies; they need consistent attention and want to be cared for. However, if disregarded, they will become quite destructive. How it feels can have a positive or negative affect on its health. Be sure you take it to get regular exercise and try to play with him as often as possible.

Second, boxer puppies live life blithely so if you do not want anything broken, move it to another room where the puppy will not go. Boxer dogs are great playmates for children but never leave them alone together because the dog may accidentally hurt them.

Third, boxer puppies need to be around other people and animals including other pets. They love to intermingle with others so doing this at a young age is recommended. You want your dog to trust the right people so find the socialization environment that will help them learn how to trust those persons.

Fourth, boxer puppies do have a bit of shyness to them so make sure they are permitted to be around others in their young age. If you can, take him wherever you go including parks, pet stores or wherever dogs are accepted. Studies have shown that female boxers are much more aggressive than their male counterparts when they have not be trained right. Always keep this in mind before purchasing two puppies for one household.

Fifth, they may be known for many of their positive traits but they can become unruly when they are not punished. Be sure to utilize obedience-training classes to get the most of out of your boxer puppy but especially his/her companionship.

Six, they do have high levels of energy so they should be exercising on a regular basis. By not giving him/her this needed attention, they can destroy things that are in their paths and be very twitchy. If you need to leave for some time, give your boxer puppy more space than usual. You can burn off some of that energy by talking them for walks and playing with them.

Lastly, before you purchase your new companion, do some checking on their parents. Find out what kinds of problems they may have had. Doing so can give you an idea of what your puppy can be like.
