Large supermarket changes have also contributed to the shift in shopping style, which has led many high streets stores high and fry. But are there any other options open to them if local trade just dies out, especially during a recession? Well, things aren't as bad as what the media portrays. Yes, business is down for many local firms who are now being forced to shut, yes there is cultural change in shopping behaviour, but it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom.
