If you want your color flyers to truly get attention, you have to use some font effects. Standard fonts in simple black does not do too well these days in flyer printing. Most find that old technique quite boring and uninteresting. So you must know a few font effects for flyer printing to keep people interested and engaged with your color flyers. Below are a few tips that might help you out in adding font effects.

• Adding that glow to your words - Ever see words that glow in posters? Yes! You can add that same effect in your flyer printing as well. In imaging software like Photoshop, you can easily add this to your text by adding the blending option of "glow" into the font layer of your choice. You can adjust the intensity and even the color of the glow if you need to as well when you edit the option. This is great to use for certain power words such as "Free", "new and improved" or "Big savings". So try to use this glow effect for them if you can.

• Lifting characters with shadows - Shadows are also a great way to add emphasis to certain words and sentences. You can also add this effect just like the glow effect stated above. Adding shadows to your color flyer text of course is a more subtle effect than the glow effect, but it also makes the text seem more real in a way. Shadows are best used for your logos, or main headlines so that you can add distinction with a degree of dignity to your choice words.

• Using three dimensional effects - It is also possible to make your fonts look like they are three dimensional. For example, you can add embossing effects that add extra shadows and lighting properties to your text. This makes the text look like it was embedded into the color flyer, much like how words are embossed in coins and such. You might be able to use this effect in your logos and certain slogans if you want.

• Filling the characters with textures and gradients - Another great effect for your fonts is to fill the characters with textures and gradients. These set textures and gradients add an extra dimension within the text itself making it more interesting. You can make the text look like it was made of something such as bricks or canvass, or you can use a dynamic color gradient where one color is changed seamlessly to the next throughout your words and sentences. This adds a touch of detail into your fonts that makes it look more complete.

• Playing with the character sizes and spacing - Finally, you can try to play with the character sizes and spacing of your color flyer text. In most imaging software you can adjust the character sizes so that they can look narrower or wider. Moreover you can also change the line spacing between text to make things more compact in terms of your text. This is very useful in the areas of the flyer design where you need to save space.

Now you can use these techniques to create better text content for flyer printing. Use these liberally unto your advertising flyers so that they look more cool and interesting. Good Luck!
