Do you know that different deployment locations for color posters require a certain kind of poster printing? That is right. Certain types of locations will demand special features and materials.

For your color posters to survive, you will need to have the proper features integrated in your design. If you do not know the proper printing for the locations where your posters will be placed to, do not worry. Below is my quick guide on using the correct poster printing for different locations. Just read on and take notes.

• Plain white walls - For plain white or light colored walls, the motto usually is just "color background". You do not want to put a white background in a light colored wall since they will not contrast enough to be noticed. The proper one in this situation are those with a different, vibrant and clear color background. A deep blue or deep red, poster for example will appear quite distinct in a white wall when compared to a simple white poster with some text. So if you are printing posters for white walls, try to change your background to a stronger color.

• Bulletin boards and corkboards - Now, for bulletin boards and corkboards, the proper poster printing strategy is to make the paper materials thicker. Since corkboards and bulletin boards use pins and other sorts of damaging devices, it pays to toughen up the material a bit to make them last longer. Just ask your poster printing company for your paper thickness choices in your posters. In most cases, you will probably be able to choose a good thickness that should make them up to being pinned at bulletin boards.

• Textured walls - Sometimes, you may also have to deal with textured walls. Textured walls are basically walls with certain finishing touches that add bumps, crevices and other texture effects. When your ad needs to be posted in this location, it is best to use a design that is clean, simple and uncluttered. This gives a nice contrast of textures between the wall and your poster, enabling it to look more distinct and different.

• Columns and posts - If you plan to span in between columns or around lampposts and such, the best poster printing feature you should integrate are adhesive pads. Many companies give you the option of getting adhesive pads, or adhesive material along with your posters so that you can easily place them on columns and post. This may add additional cost to your poster printing, but the ease by which you can deploy your posters should make it all worth it.

• Glass - Finally, if you plan to place them on a glass wall, you will need to have them punched with holes. More specifically, your posters should have four holes with metal eyelets or supports on each corner. This gives you the ability to use suction hooks. Suction hooks help you hook them into glass with ease giving a nice and clean attachment that adhesives cannot match.

Great! Now you know how to properly adapt your poster printing for specific locations.
