If you want attention and new connections for your business then trade shows are the way to go. They are great for making your business grow. It will get you some fresh advertising and get you in touch with people that are in the same industry as you. It is not a picnic to get ready for something like this. It takes plenty of planning and preparation. Otherwise you are wasting money and time.

You will have staff to assist you with the running of the event. This will most likely be current employees that you feel are knowledgeable. You need people that are comfortable and familiar with your business. Before the event you will need to get your staff ready and make sure that they on the same page with a brief and concise description of your business and all that you have to offer. Have answers prepared that are short and to the point for all the questions that you imagine attendees will have.

You will need a whole pile of stuff for this event. You want to make sure that you have what you need and are fully prepared before the event because after it will not help at all. You want tablecloths and back drops for your space. These should all be in company colors and be imprinted with your business logo. You also need some nice promotional products to give to all the people at the event that you talk to. These are the reason that those people will be able to contact you later so make sure and get something that they will keep and use.

One of the most important things that you will get from this experience is contact information from possible customers. Because this is so crucial you will want for your people that you have helping you to have a plan of how they will be getting this info. The promotional items could be used like bait to get info. This is a common practice. You could also do a drawing for something particularly nice, like a leather promotional jacket or a nice rolling cooler. To enter the drawing would take a ticket that is filled out with complete contact info.

Get what you need organized and packed a few weeks before the event so that you will know if you have forgotten anything. You could even have a mock set up and practice run if you are putting a pile of money out for this. You definitely don't want to be at the event setting up and realize that you don't have the hooks to fasten the backdrops, or you go to check your promotional giveaways and you see that they have a typo. Do the homework ahead and you will be happy.
