How to Make Your Affiliate Program Work
by Ken Sharp

Before joining an affiliate program, look at the products they are

selling. Are their products of good quality? Also look at the website

they are selling them on. Is their website professional looking? check

out their shopping cart too, make sure it is secure and up to

standards.

Look at the website as if you were a customer looking for a product.

Would you be happy to purchase something from this website? Is their

website easy to navigate and is it easy to find the things that you

want? These are very important things to consider when deciding on what

affiliate program to go with. You want the customers that you worked

hard to get to be able to purchase something easily.

Also when looking for an affiliate program, find out how much

commissions they are paying, is it worth your effort? How many sales

would you have to make just to break even on your advertising costs?

Make sure it is worth it before you sign up!

How long has the business been in business? It should've been in

business for several years and have lots of great customer

testimonials, this will instill trust in both you and the customers you

send to them.

A business that sells name brand products are great to get into. Their

name brand products would be well known around the country or even

around the world, which would be easier for you to get customers to go

to their website. The customers would already know about them and trust

them.

Does the business offer good support for affiliates? Affiliates need

support from the company in order to promote their products. Does the

company offer tutorials, ebooks, guides, tips, information about their

service or products? All these things are very important to consider

before getting into any affiliate program.

check out the companies payment schedule. Does this suite your needs?

Make sure it does before joining their affiliate program.

Some businesses offer either 1 tier, 2 level or multi-level, and

lifetime affiliate programs. 1 tier means that the affiliate will get

paid only from the sale the company makes from the customer the

affilate sent them. 2 level and multi-level programs are great,

because, this way, the affiliate will get paid from each sponsered

member. The affilaite would prosper a lot more when they help their

sponsered members get more sponsered members. Lifetime affiliate

programs are also great. With these, the affiliate gets a percentage of

every sale made by a customer for life. These customers are tracked by

special cookies and customer numbers, etc...

If you plan to join an affiliate program, remember, it takes a lot of

time and hard work. YOu will not get rich quick with affiliate

programs.

There are many places to advertise the new company you are sponsering.

You could put your affiliate links in classified advertisements (online

or offline), bulliten boards, forums, blogs, rss feeds, writing

articles, pay-per-click, opt-in newsletters, your own website, ebooks,

the list goes on and on. Remember to NEVER spam!
