This included her uncle, the Duke of Westminster and one of her cousins, the Duke of Windsor. Her strong relations with many other royal family members only added to Chanel's creative rule of the world of fashion. The year 1926 brought in its wake what is now considered to be the staple piece found in every woman's closet, the unique little black dress. Commonly referred to as "LBD", this little black dress was a runaway success at Chanel. The dress was an immediate hit and it was made available everywhere in Europe.
