Avoiding Catwalk Mistakes |

A majority of fashion models get a lot of money just to parade on the ramp; but this is not fashion or modelling is all about. When they are in the act of modelling for a fashion item, say clothes, they are simply showing off the fashion clothes they are wearing. Any mistake that happens during that time is termed as catwalk oops by critics. Popular models normally wear clothing items made by some fashion designers and they would show off the best that suit them. When you are practising to become a good fashion model, you should make it a point to start early and should strive to create a stunning impression on the walkway. You cannot just move on as if you are casually walking down a street; it should look professional. It is also not very easy to learn this aspect of modelling. There are no clear cut ways since the body shapes of people vary; and in a different manner. If you want to avoid any sort of catwalk oops experience, a few tips when followed diligently will help you perfect your gait. The strides you take must not be bigger than the full length of your foot. Keep your body positioned very much in line with your back. Keep your body straight, as slouching is not allowed. Try to balance your body's weight on each leg as you walk. Try to pass all your weight on to the balls of your feet. Keep the toes of the feet pointed straight or you can have them pointing slightly outward. Imagine that there is a line that you have to stick on to; walk by placing one foot directly in front of the other foot all the time. Try to keep your legs moving forward in a smooth manner; and do not move or swivel your hips too much. The knees should bend a little, but not too much, and it should not be very noticeable. It has to look natural as the models glide across the catwalk. The arms of the models should move the same way corresponding to the movement of the legs. This will help a model to balance well and it will also make it look professional. When the left foot is moving forward, your left arm should be going backward, almost mimicking the movement of the right leg, and like this, the other way round also. Do not appear to be stiff; and this is very important. The shoulders should hang loose and the long arms should flow freely to and fro on your sides. As the saying goes, practice makes it perfect. So, what does it take for a model to perfect her walk on the catwalk? Simple, more practice. Practise in an area that will allow you to take a few steps freely. Then tow a string; or else, draw a straight line on the floor. Make sure that the line drawn is straight, and practise on that. Cultivate self confidence; you will not have a problem with fashion modelling and the catwalk. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
