Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) is offering its Alcatelcompatible1000Base-T GBICtransceiver which is a hot-pluggable I/O device that plugs into an Ethernet GBIC port of an Alcatel switch or router to link the port with the network. It is based on Gigabit Ethernet IEEE 802.3 standard and 1000Base-T standard and provides a quick and reliable interface for the Gigabit Ethernet application. This Alcatel compatible 1000Base-T GBIC transceiver, model C012G101, complies with the GBIC Specification Revision 5.5 and is RoHS compliant. It features a hot-pluggable design and auto-sense MDI/MDIX. It provides up to 1.25 Gb/s bi-directional data links. The 1000Base-T physical layer (PHY) can be accessed via I2C, allowing access to all PHY setting and features. 1000Base-T full duplex default operating mode is allowed. The transceiver provides a maximum transmission distance of up to 100 m. In addition, it has SCA-2 host connector and RJ-45 connector. This Alcatel compatible 1000Base-T GBIC transceiver belongs to GAO's family of Alcatel Compatible Transceivers. GAO's pluggable transceivers offer a convenient and cost effective solution for use in data centers, metropolitan area access and ring networks, and storage area networks.
