A Quick Glance at the BlackBerry Torch |

The BlackBerry Torch phones were the first of their kind to be introduced into the market. The BlackBerry Torch 9800 was introduced in the market in August 2010 and 12 months later, some of the features were upgraded and the BlackBerry Torch 9810 was introduced. The Torch has a natural resemblance to the BlackBerry phones; the difference comes in when we look at the sliding mode which features a bigger screen of about 3.2-inches with a resolution of 480x360. This resolution is however similar to the BlackBerry Storm and the BlackBerry Storm 2. These are the features that contribute to this phone's utter uniqueness. The BlackBerry Torch is one of the devices that features great social networking integration, a WebKit browser and a powerful universal search feature.
Perhaps a thing to note about this phone is that its sliding keyboard feature locks in and out, as compared to devices that don't have the sliding keyboard feature like the BlackBerry Curve phones. We can assume that the user of this phone must be extra careful and try to avoid dropping it on a hard floor every now and then, as it may not be in a position to survive the situation if it were dropped too many times.
The selling point of this phone after the release on August 2010 was the BlackBerry operating system 6. This may be a problem at the moment especially to the Torch 9800 because of the fact that OS 7 has already been made available and on the other hand, it is still facing competition against its predecessor, the Bold 9780. Although the function between the Torch and the Bold 9780 are the same in that they run OS 6 with GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and 5mp camera, when we focus on the screens which are particularly identical in resolution, the Torch happens to fall behind because it appears the pixels are spread over a larger area causing it to lose a bit of sharpness.
When you purchase your Torch phone, you realize that when you open the box there is a gadget missing. The case, the rest of the gadgets that include standard BlackBerry international chargers and other accessories would be intact. This is not a common mistake but it appears it is a way of the BlackBerry Torch to be shipped separately which allows the user to purchase the holster if at all he or she may want to have it.
