Niche marketing strategy is a widely used term - and no one really knows what to do with it and how to implement it. Some think that a niche marketing strategy is to focus on less competitive less searched keywords for search engine optimization. But less competitive and less searched mostly means less profitable! But besides that can concentrating on less competitive keywords be a strategy? It sure is just a tool on your way to success but no strategy! what the heck is niche marketing? Niche marketing strategy is to focus on your target audience and segment this target audience. Example: Your favorite hobby is internet marketing and you want to use your knowledge to start a profitable internet marketing consulting business. Your first step should be to ask yourself: Who is interested in this kind of service i offer? Every one who wants to earn money with internet marketing. This is sure no big help for you when you try to write your first salesletter for your service - as this is not a well defined niche - you would try to be everything for everyone. You take an excel spreadsheet and write down all possible customers - important think of persons! Some think that a niche marketing strategy is to focus on less competitive less searched keywords for search engine optimization. But less competitive and less searched mostly means less profitable! But besides that can concentrating on less competitive keywords be a strategy? So for example: People who want to use internet marketing for starting their home business, or people who already started with internet marketing but had no success,... That gives you a good starting but you should even segment this list a bit more: Try to find the segments in the above groups like: What about offering a service to Consultants who have no internet marketing in their current marketing portfolio - but want to start to use it. Better focus it a bit more - segment the consultants - maybe use lawyers or tax consultants,... Now segment the group you have found "horizontally"... Now find the problems they people in this targeted fields have. Brainstorm a bit and add them to your excel spreadsheet. Example: for your home based business owner who currently works in a day to day job - one problem will be how to start an internet business while working in my day to day job 8 to 10 hours a day. The lawyer on the other hand may want to use the internet to drive targeted customers to his practice 24 hours 7 days a week. As a result of this work you get a matrix in your spreadsheet of possible customers and their problems. So now you can do ... With the knowledge you now have - it is a lot easier to create products and write salesletters. As you know to whom you speak and the problems he faces.
