Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has released its handheld optical multi-meter, which is specially designed for technical support personnel to test a variety of instruments with a single meter. It is widely used in telecommunication and CATV maintenance and fiber optic lab testing. This handheld optical multi-meter, model5601, integrates both an optical power meter module and an optical light source module and performs closed-loop tests by using both modules. Each module can also function individually. The laser source operates at dual wavelengths of 1310nm and 1550nm while the optical power meter module operates over wavelengths at 850nm, 980nm, 1310nm and 1550nm. The multi-meter is able to operate continuously for at least 4 hours with both the power meter and light source on. It will automatically shut down after ten minutes of inactivity. The energy-saving meter offers FC, SC and ST interchangeable connectors for selection. In addition, various configurations of light source options and power meter options are available for this meter.
