Postcard printing is a cost effective and
efficient way to connect with customers. A number of trends have
emerged over the last few years as more businesses took advantage of
professional printing firms who can offer direct mail services. When a printing firm takes care of your direct mail needs, unique efficiencies are created that save most businesses a great deal of time and money. As you consider launching a postcard printing campaign, think about some of these trends and how they may influence your current campaign. Full color The vast majority of campaigns are delivered to mailboxes today are in full color. This is important to know so that you do not make the mistake of an all B&W postcard. Customers have come to expect full color, so make sure to incorporate colors. Bigger The standard printing size is 4" X 6", plus or minus an inch. More companies are switching over to larger format printing sizes, such as 6" X 9" and 7" X 10". While these larger formats can cost more money, consider that a standard size may not stand out to your customer. Take the time to explore the costs associated with a larger format, as you may be surprised. Coupons Many businesses are also using postcards as a coupon for their customers. Customers can actually bring it to the store in exchange for a discount or even free items. This gives the business an opportunity to directly track the results of the campaign and it also gets the customer into the store. Customer segmentation Finally, marketing departments are more carefully defining their customers. They are only sending advertisements to customers who are most likely to make a purchase. This dramatically improves the return on investment since the ideal customers are the only ones that are receiving advertisements. Modern mailing lists make customer segmentation easy, as long as you know your customer very well. Following these postcard direct mail trends will greatly improve the results of your campaign. Just be sure to also use a professional printer so that your campaign is not hindered by an unprofessional appearance.
