Positioning Yourself in the Industry using Postcards

Let us say that you would want to be known as an expert in your particular industry. As of now, you are just starting to carve your niche that is why nobody seems to know you.

You know that you need to build a reputation in order to remain in the industry you are in right now. However, you know for a fact that writing a bestseller would mean a lot of work. A PR company is also not the best idea because they are so expensive nowadays that you do not think you could ever afford one even if it is the cheapest in the list.

So what would get you noticed and well known without having to deplete all your resources?

One marketing strategy can do that for you. Postcards. However, not just any ordinary postcard printing, mind you. The postcard templates we are talking about here are the kind where you provide your target clients with content-rich marketing that makes you more memorable for your recipients.

Contrary to the usual tourist-type postcard printing where there are colorful scenes and graphics on one side of the card and a marketing message on the other, these postcard templates are filled with content that works as small versions of newsletters or even booklets. This strategy worked for not just a few marketers, and it might just work for your business.

Now how do you create these mini-booklet postcards? Your postcard marketing message could showcase an advice column, a revealing case study, overwhelming statistics, or even a new perspective on a particular issue in your industry. You do not need to actually write everything in that very limited space. You can just include a few paragraphs and have them go to a website for example for more information. Approximately, 300 words will be able to fit in one postcard template - enough to make your postcard printing attractive, and more importantly, readable to your target clients.

The key is to position yourself in your niche as an expert by providing more than adequate and valuable information that your target clients would find worthy of their attention. Then you provide your expertise consistently, maybe 4 to 6 times in a year. In addition, you will be able to bring in as many clients to your business with your very effective marketing campaign.

As a final note, be sure to avoid hard selling pitches in your postcard marketing. Your postcards are meant to give information and not to sell anything. What it does really is to spotlight you as an expert in your chosen field.
